On July 23, 2022, Michelle Maldonado and more than 20 Virginia advocates and legislative colleagues convened with Vice President Kamala Harris in Richmond, Virginia, to discuss steps that state and local leaders can take to protect reproductive rights.
Maldonado was one of several speakers selected to lead the conversation, which covered the intersection between the maternal health crisis and the health care crisis that women are facing in the wake of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade. Participants discussed the need to fight for the health, safety, and wellbeing of women, and agreed to continue working together to defend reproductive health care in Virginia and across the nation.
