On January 25, Del. Michelle Maldonado met in her Richmond office with Mike McDonald of the Greater Washington Boys & Girls Club (BGCGW). Mr. McDonald is Regional Vice President of Government Relations for the organization, and is also an experienced high school teacher of history, geography, and economics.
The BGCGW is aligned with Del. Maldonado’s strong support of public education, providing after-school tutoring, S.T.E.M. days and other programs to strengthen students’ chances for future success.
“Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington serves kids and teens in our Nations’ Capitol through an adopted strategy created by our National Headquarters Boys & Girls Clubs of America to ensure Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles. Programs like our after-school “Power Hour” are designed to raise the academic proficiency of students ages 6 to 12 with a comprehensive homework tutoring program.”
